What we look for
Credentials matter, but they are not what decides it. The specific thing we look for is an interest in the Integrated Systems Model — the ISM.
It is how we work. One of our physiotherapists is ISM certified, and both have completed three years of mentorship within the model under its founder, Diane Lee. It is why our assessments start with the whole body rather than the painful part. If that way of reasoning about a patient appeals to you, you will fit here — you do not need to have taken the courses already, the interest is what counts.
New to the ISM?
The Integrated Systems Model is a clinical reasoning framework for assessing and treating people with persistent pain and multiple impairments. Its central idea is finding the primary driver — working out which area is actually causing the problem, which is often not the area that hurts.
